Point of No Return
In Shane and I's final submission of our film, Point of No Return, we made numerous revisions; the most notable changes being our script and the editing. Initially, we had our film set in the forest at night, then in our second submission we changed the location to only in the car. However, we realized shortly after how ineffective that was at creating a coherent story, and was lacking in horror and suspense. In order to fix this Shane and I wanted to film in the forest again, but this time during sundown because one of the complaints we got from our initial movie was that it was too dark to see the setting. So, after combining the interview from our first draft, mixing in a car scene like the second draft, and filming in the forest, we had our final product. In coordination with the editing, which was most noticeably the found footage style quality of the recording added in post, me and Shane believe we have made an effective horror film. The old school video recorder overlay was added with the app Videoshop, and the security camera style footage in one scene was added with that as well. With our film now being set in the forest, we were able to incorporate many more camera shots and angles: such as over the shoulder, crane shot (somewhat), and a pan shot to name a few.
