CCR Draft #2

During our marketing plan we will attempt to engage heavily with our target audience. Shane and I made a trailer as a part of our marketing strategy. Most importantly, we will have to create an online survey with our trailer. The survey would ask questions such as: what do you think the film will be about? Where they answer in a few sentences or one. As well as where they are from, and with that, how excited they are for the film, on a scale of one to ten. This will show us where most of the fans are, so that way we know where to prioritize our theatrical releases. Our trailer will feature a small aspect of our movie, the ending. Our trailer is shot through the perspective a body in the "Skinwalker Forest" that is being disturbed by an unknown passerby-er. This creates suspense and allows for more discussion on online forums such as Reddit. This leads to conspiracies and rapid growth within the horror movie community. In order to distribute Point of No Return, Shane and I would work with Terrorfilms.net because they cooperate with platforms such as Shudder, Amazon, Itunes, Vudu, Google Play, X-box, Sony Playstation, Hulu, Roku, Iflix, and Vimeo. They specialize in the Indie Horror genre pushing and advocating for many smaller films such as "The Chair", "The Chosen", and "The Barn". All very small budget films. As we will be a small studio ourselves, with a very small budget, this would be the best approach to get our movie out their. Furthermore, this will give us a name for ourselves, allowing us to move our movie to Netflix and Amazon Prime. Therefore, after we release it in theaters, (If we even release it in theaters), roughly a week after its initial theater release, we will release it online. Like i said, since our film is so small budget, it's very likely that we will skip releasing it in theaters to save money, and not go over budget, as well as to keep us from that overall struggle as well. Of course as seen with most theatrical releases, that is where films make most their money back; therefore, it will be a weighty decision for us to make. As I said before, in order for us to determine where to release our film, we will do that through our online marketing campaign, to determine where the most hype for our film is coming from. That way, we can release it in those concentrated areas, letting us make more money, while saving money at the same time.
